About me

My name is Fabio, I’m Italian and I live in a small town on Lake Maggiore between Milan and Switzerland.
I started taking photos when I was about 15, a family passion.
My first camera was a Nikon Nikkormat SLR, followed by a Nikon F2, which I still own. I also used a Hasselblad 6×6, and for years I always developed and printed black and white in my darkroom.
I also shot with Kodachrome 25 or 64 film for color slides, which I then projected or printed with the legendary Cibachrome system.
Since 2003, I’ve switched to digital and, little by little, I’ve ended up using a full-frame Nikon D750, although I must say I use my iPhone quite often.
In 2023, I switched to a Fujifilm mirrorless camera, which is lighter to carry around. Fujifilm makes excellent cameras and lenses. In short, I’ve regained my desire to take photos, something I’d somewhat lost in recent years.
I’ve always taken travel and portrait photography, and now I’ve added a passion for street photography. I shoot in RAW and JPEG. I don’t really like using editing software, especially since, using a Fujifilm camera, I’m very comfortable using the various color or B&W recipes developed by Fujifilm users.
